Other heritage organisation events

Anglesey has a wealth of activities at many centres. Here we attempt to list as many other heritage organisation events as we are aware of.

Oriel Mon, Llangefni

As well as permanent exhibitions, the Oriel mounts a wide variety of temporary attractions -and what’s more, admission is normally free. For full details see their website.

Anglesey County Council countryside events and activities

These events raise awareness, enjoyment and engagement of Anglesey’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and natural environment. They are jointly funded by Isle of Anglesey County Council and Natural Resources Wales (NRW). For full details see their website.

Maritime Museum, Holyhead

Situated at picturesque Newry Beach, the museum is a fascinating family experience. Take a step back in time in the oldest Lifeboat Station in Wales. Learn about shipwrecks, gallant rescues and pirates. Find out what it was like to sail on the Irish Sea over 100 years ago. There is a small admission charge. For full details see their website.

Menai Heritage

A community project to celebrate our two world famous bridges over the Menai Strait: the Menai Suspension Bridge, built by Thomas Telford, and the Britannia Bridge, built by Robert Stephenson. Our fully accredited museum, located in Menai Bridge, Anglesey, North Wales, has exhibits of artefacts and drawings, films, quizzes and qualified guides. Take a walk over and under the Suspension Bridge, see the lions on the Britannia Bridge. Build your own bridges and test your knowledge.
