Description
Soils in the Welsh Landscape is a field based approach to the study of soil in the landscapes of North Wales, by our soils expert, Dr. John Conway. Designed to meet the curriculum requirements in subjects that refer to soils in the National Curriculum it provides an introduction to soil science, an explanation of soil classification and – perhaps most usefully – a unique feature is a set of sites where soils can be seen without digging pits. It is useful for teachers and students of geography, science, earth science and geology at both GCSE and A level. It also presents soils within the landscape, linking soil types to geology, topography, drainage and land-use. There are some examples on our website
